Trinidad Topes was first unveiled in 2016 as a Cuban Edición Limitada (Limited Edition). Due to extremely enthusiastic market response, Habanos S.A. decided to incorporate it into the brand's regular production line in 2019, making it an important milestone in the brand's move towards the large ring gauge trend. Its name "Topes" comes from the summer resort Topes de Collantes in Cuba's Sierra del Escambray mountains, near Trinidad city.
